This course will be interactive and participants are invited to bring their current projects and ideas to the classroom. You will have the opportunity to work together, brainstorm project ideas and begin developing a capital budget. Learning Objectives: - Describe the purpose and framework for creating and implementing capital budgeting and project planning.
- Define and describe the framework for capital budgeting.
- Define and calculate key components and important directions.
- Understand how to create pro forma financial statements and how to analyze actual results versus plan through variance analysis.
- Understand how to manage and track a project using a capital budget.
- Examine the drivers to selling and gaining approval for a project.

Prerequisite: |
- Bring a calculator. A basic calculator will be adequate, but a financial calculator such as a Hewlett Packard 12C or 17B Financial Calculator will be helpful (Note: we will not have any time to explain how to use these tools).
- The Instructor will distribute all necessary course materials; we will provide a copy of any materials, case studies, binders, annual reports, etc. for each participant.
